"Shadow" Nunez
In Loving Memory of Shadow Beloved pet of the Nunez Family
Thank you for being my best friend for the past 13 years for walking into my life when I had no hope for humanity. I still remember how I started looking for a little companion because I was single reckless and didn’t have anything to come home to. I was looking for a Yorkie or a cute dog to match my sass. I can still remember the phone call from a friend saying hey I know you’re looking for a dog and my aunt rescued one from the SPCA and is thinking about taking it back because her other dog won’t let him eat. I jumped in my car and drove to go meet you and when I saw you, I laughed you looked like a dirty mop. As if you knew that I was there to save you as if you knew that you needed to save me. You walked up and sat right next to me so obedient so patient as I heard your story. You came from the SPCA where they treated you for heartworm and you were about a year and a half old. You survived that battle and that’s why you looked so rough. I took you home and the next day we went to PetSmart for grooming. The look on the groomers face was priceless and I told her I know he’s not cute but make him look like a dog! I said give him a schnauzer look, lol while you got groomed, I picked up every toy, every treat, every blankie, dog bed, everything!!!! When you got out of the groomer, you looked so handsome in your weird way… you have been the best dog a girl could ever wish for and those sad puppy eyes that calm demeanor that balanced me out the endless cuddles and all of the battles will live in my heart for ever. Shadow you overcame heart worms, liver problems, tumors, and swallowing a Christmas bow that almost took you out!!! I know that you tried surviving this kidney problem but it was too much for you at this age. Because I love you soooo much I can’t keep poking you and medicating you everyday and I can’t see you like this anymore, your absence is already felt as your health has heavily declined in the past month. Your test results kill me every week and hearing the Vet say I am keeping you alive for me and not thinking about you just finished breaking me!!!! Thank you for being the best dog ever! I will always love you. Thank you for healing me with your unconditional love. Your entire human family will miss you more than you can comprehend. Goodbye my sweet baby! RIP
