    My sweet boy helped teach Athena to walk, ran to her whenever she cried, and let her crawl all over him. He would roll his eyes because, secretly, he loved the attention. His favorite time with Athena was when she was eating, because she always threw him food. Nina has some big paws to fill, but I’d say she’s doing a good job. She misses you a lot, just like the rest of us. It has been hard.

    Saying goodbye to you was one of the hardest things I had to do. I have spent almost 13 years with you. In those years, you have been with me through the really hard times and some of my best times. You were a best friend, a great support, and my protector. You charmed anyone you met, even at your grumpiest moments. Although your age was up there, I never expected this. I love you so much, Bubba. Thank you for so many wonderful years. You were a loving soul, I will never forget. My heart will always wear the pawprints left by you.
